MATH 121 Introductory Probability and Statistics

Successful performance on Western New England University placement test.

Course Description

This course is an introduction to the general theory of probability and statistics, designed to provide students with a working knowledge of ideas and tools of practical statistics, with an emphasis on applications to the pharmaceutical and biological sciences.  Aspects of data analysis that students will learn include presentation of data, measures of central tendency and spread, the normal distribution, correlation, and linear regression.  Topics for inferential statistics include confidence intervals and t-tests, as well as the relevant classical and conditional probability theory, including Bayes' rule.
