Class sessions will focus on identification of how pharmaceuticals, and their metabolites are introduced into the environment, the fate of these compounds in the environment (metabolically and chemically), actual and potential cause/effect relationships between specific products/byproducts and types of wildlife, as well as actual and potential cause/effect relationships between specific products/byproducts and humans (e.g. reproductive effects). Mechanisms available to limit this type of pollution will also be addressed.
