Course Description

This course utilizes a clinical approach to trial advocacy in the unique practice environment of the United States Bankruptcy Court. The course will emphasize both written and oral advocacy. The course will be focused primarily on consumer bankruptcy practice under Chapters 7 and 13. Students will be exposed to the technical skills necessary to effectively represent their clients, including tactics and strategy in the courtroom. Prerequisite: LAW 685 Bankruptcy Law must have been taken previously or may be taken simultaneously. Enrollment limited to 20 students. (This is a simulation course and satisfies 3 experiential learning credits.)
