LAW 746 Secured Transactions



Course Description

Secured Transactions is an intensive study of consensual security interests in personal property under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code, including their creation, priority and enforcement. Students will be exposed to issues surrounding repossession and foreclosure of security interests, and the effect of Article 9 security interests on conflicting judicial and statutory tax liens, leases and fixtures. The course will also offer side-glances at letters of credit under Article 5 of the UCC and limited provisions of the federal Bankruptcy Code. Students who have taken UCC survey (LAW 670) may not enroll in this course.
