Course Description

This course is designed to build on the competencies developed in English 104. The objective of the course is for students to further develop listening and speaking skills necessary for various academic and social settings. Students will interact extensively in English with their teacher and other students. In addition, students will listen to authentic recorded material taken from the American culture, as well as academic lectures from across the curriculum. There will be focused listening exercises and note-taking practice. 

In addition, students will be given opportunities for authentic practice by sitting in on lectures across the curriculum (4 hours per week).
