ED 550 Strategic Teaching in Reading and Language Arts

Course Description

In this course students will develop a repertoire of effective strategies to assess and support language arts learning for elementary aged leaners, especially those struggling to meet grade level expectations. Participants will practice using a variety of assessments, analyzing data and matching assessment data to lessons that most strategically facilitate students’ literacy skill development. Attention will be given to cultural, cognitive, and linguistic factors that impact literacy learning.
