HONB 202 Effective Information Systems for Today's Business

Prerequisite

BIS 102 and acceptance into the Honors Program or consent of the Business Honors Coordinator.

Course Description

This course is an introduction to Information Systems as a discipline including a survey and overview of the role and functions of IS in a business organization, IS job functions and career paths, and the nature and vocabulary of major information systems technologies. The course explores the role of IS in advancing the digital economy and as a competitive tool for business. Course includes hands-on work with SAP software to introduce the concept of Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) and show the relationships between the different business functions.

May not take HONB 202 and BIS 202 for credit.
