ENGL 130 English Composition IA

Course Description

This course is designed for students needing preparatory work in key elements of college-level writing and reading. Topics include sentence and paragraph development, fundamentals of grammar, the writing of expository essays, integration of sources, and strategies for the critical reading of prose non-fiction. Note: Students placed in ENGL 130 may have to take additional credits to fulfill graduation requirements in some programs. Students who need supplemental instruction in grammar, mechanics, and usage take, on recommendation, a concurrent lab in writing fundamentals, LA 150.
